What to Expect with Porcelain Veneers
Receiving porcelain veneers is a three-step process that can be achieved in two or three visits. It is virtually painless, and the results can last a lifetime. The necessary steps you can expect are:
- Consultation: We will X-ray your teeth to make sure you are a candidate for porcelain veneers in La Crosse.
- Smile Design: At Grand River Dental, we use an advanced smile design system, Exocad, which allows us to create lifelike mock-ups of what can be accomplished with veneers and how they will look on you. The Exocad system helps us custom design your veneers to be both cosmetically attractive and functional. Exocad is the most sophisticated dental CAD design software available, with features such as Jaw Motion Import and Smile Design. With this technology, we can achieve an extraordinary result.
- Preparation: Dr. Rachel Malin will carefully remove a small layer of enamel from your existing teeth, after which she creates a mold of your teeth to send to our in-house lab. Your veneers will be custom created, so they fit beautifully. While waiting for your final veneers, you will be fitted with attractive temporaries.
- Placement: Once our dentist receives your new veneers, she will check the fit and color of them and adjust as needed. The fitting can take some time, as she will be making minute adjustments and checking them repeatedly until they are perfect. She will then prepare your teeth to receive the veneers and attach them with a special bonding cement hardened with a UV light.
